LAURENT DEROO ARCHITECTE chooses INNOLIN for ISABEL MARANT MIAMI

INNOLIN innovative biobased panels were choosen by LAURENT DEROO ARCHITECTE to create one of the most beautiful shop of ISABEL MARANT freshly unveiled in MIAMI, Florida, USA.

The 280cm long panels were thermoformed near Lille in France. The openings created in the ceiling enable the light to penetrate the ceiling.

It seemed important for this flagship store to use innovative materials. Innolin is not only sustainable but the enhanced acoustic and textile esthetic made the difference.

The French startup company Flaxcomposites makes INNOLIN by assembling with a biobased resin premium European LINEN and recycled cork stoppers collected by charity organisation like FRANCE CANCER.

INNOLIN feuille a été sélectionné par l’école d’architecture de NANTES pour la réalisation de structures rigides thermoformées aux formes organiques.

Pour ce projet deux types de feuilles INNOLIN ont été spécialement fabriquées sur mesure par Flaxcomposites (www.flaxcomposites.com) : une série de 8 feuilles avec enduction simple face laissant une face avec le toucher doux du tissu de lin label MASTERS OF LINEN, une seconde série de 8 feuilles plus rigides encore (photo entête) enduction étanches sur les deux faces.

Les étudiants de l’école d’architecture de Nantes ont découvert la facilité de mise en œuvre des feuilles INNOLIN en les thermoformant à l’aide d’un décapeur thermique.

Une fois chauffée la résine d’origine végétale des feuilles INNOLIN se détend et le tissu de lin reprend sa durabilité naturelle permettant toute les formes.

INNOLIN sheets have been selected by the French architect school of Nantes to create architectural organic shapes.

For this project French manufacturer Flaxcomposites (www.Flaxcomposites.com) created custom INNOLIN sheets using MASTERS OF LINEN quality Europeen linen textiles.

8 sheets have been made with soft touch one one side and 8 sheets haved been fully covered with biobased resin.

The students have experimented how easy it is to create shapes with INNOLIN. With a heat gun the bio based resin becomes flexible and the linen textile becomes drapable again.

GWALAZ - FLAX TRIMARAN - LIN COMPOSITES -FLAXCOMPOSITES GLADU

THE FIRST BIOBASED FLAX TRIMARAN SAILING

KAIROS in partnership with TRICAT in Bretagne, FRANCE has successfully built the first BIOBASED COMPOSITES TRIMARAN using FLAX FIBERS named GWALAZ.

Made in mid 2013, the GWALAZ boat used one of our special 600GSM BIAXIAL using LOW TWIST FLAX ROVINGS and a FLAX UD.

In combination with a BIOBASED RESIN, made in vacuum infusion with a cork core this is the most exciting project about flax composites in the marine industry.

This boat sailed in Bretagne, France for a trial before being transported into a container in the Pacific Ocean for a film project www.lostintheswell.com

This flax fiber composites boat is a complete success proving a boat can be made, transported to the other part of the globe, used there in heavy wind conditions and returned safely without any damages.

FLAX-UD-BIAXIAL-WIND-TURBINE-BLADE

FLAX COMPOSITE WIND TURBINE BLADE

CAMIRA spin off of NOTTINGHAM UNIVERSITY successfully made the first 3.5 meter long wind turbine blade  reinforced with only FLAX FIBERS.

This blade has mainly used a 600 GSM FLAX BIAXIAL +/- 45° that we now offer you (here) for your innovation products.

You can watch the destruction test on YOUTUBE here. It passed the IEC61400 norm making it a real success. The blade can stand a hurricane !

PREFAL CHOOSES ECO RENFORT A FLAX PULTRUDED PROFILE BY INNOBAT

INNOBAT has been granted a JEC AWARD in 2011 for the following flax composite end use : PULTRUDED WINDOW PROFILE REINFORCEMENTS.

Low twist flax rovings are pultruded  in Europe in order to offer a insulating reinforcement.

Today the first customer is a French company  named PREFALPREFAL LOGO
